"Stories are both lessons and dreams that are to be both told and experienced..."
My name is Adirka Ramkusen, a young South African Indian girl born in Kwa- Zulu Natal, Durban. I've always had a passion and talent for writing stories. Starting out with using my mother's own computer at the age of 10 to creative writing assignments in English throughout Highschool and finally to screenwriting for film from college till now. Along the way I've never let go of my day dreaming and fantasizing as I continue to grow. Imagining vividly what I put on paper in my head. These are visions I wish to share with the world while also learning about what the world itself has to offer in return.
My Story
I'm an only child with the most supportive family one could ask for. I grew up with a love for the arts. Drawing was one of my first talents that I've been able to take comfort in. As of now I still paint and sketch and branched out into digital artworks as well. Reading books and novels mainly within the fantasy genre had inspired me to create my own stories and in future a book of my own. This alone is what pushed me into attending film school that helped me appreciate other genres and stories in the real world as well. It's a thrilling experience to work with others and observe how they perceive these creative visions in their own personal ways. Making films has not only demanded skills and talent but has helped me grow as a person. From the girl that drew, wrote and imagined her stories, here I stand with the abilities to make them a reality to experience.
